Willis was the son of Jasper Washington and Samantha Elizabeth Chambers Anthony. Willis married Myrtle Arva Proctor on 9-8-1911 in a double wedding with Drucy Proctor and Phil Hyde. Children are Hazel, Lois, Thelma and Willard.
