JANUARY 27, 1951 – DECEMBER 13, 2019
Audrey Lynne Abas passed away on December 13th in Mission Hospital, Mission Viejo. She leaves behind a son, William Abas of Pocatello, Idaho, a daughter, Rhea Abas of Santa Ana, CA, a brother John Scott Abas of Cheyenne, Wyoming and four grandchildren, Nicole, Anthony, Zazzlene and Audrina. She was preceded in death by her brother George Abas.
Audrey was born in St. Louis, Mo where both of her parents, Julian Norman and Addie Louise Abas were attending Chiropractic College. Upon graduation, they moved the family to Casper, Wyoming where Audrey grew up. After graduating high school in Casper, Audrey studied Elementary and Special Education obtaining her Master Degree from University of Wyoming in Laramie.
In Wyoming, she worked with special needs clients in a residential setting and in 1980, she accepted a position as a Learning Disabilities Specialist at Citrus College in Glendora, CA. She worked there until retirement in 2013. She lived in the California cities of Glendora, Rancho Cucamonga and Fontana. Upon retirement, she moved to Orange County living first in Aliso Viejo and then Mission Rancho Viejo.
Audrey was a very independent person who loved to travel, shop and donate her time in service of others. She loved to care for her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Kidney Foundation or the Lupus Foundation.
