John J. Abt
Leonardo - John J. Abt, 77, of 27 Appleton ave., Leonardo, died Monday in the New Jersey Firemen's home, Boonton. He was born in Newark and had lived here 30 years. Mr. Abt was a retired employee of the Newark fire department.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Helen Falk Abt; two sons, Norman Abt, serving with the Navy in California, and Murray Abt of Washington, D. C.; three daughters, Mrs. Lila Hagin of Union; Mrs. Doris Conk and Miss June Abt, both here; four grandchildren; two brothers, Louis Abt of Newark, and Frederick Abt of Belmar, and two sisters, Mrs. Theresa Walsh and Mrs. Lena Dwyer, both of Newark.
The funeral will be held tomorrow (Thursday) at 11 a.m. in the Posten funeral home, with Rev. Richard P. Young of Leonardo Baptist church officiating. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery, Newark.
