John Edward Martin, 78, of Kitts Hill, OH passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Community Hospice, Ashland, KY. He was born April 29, 1941 in Louisville, KY, son of the late Charles and Edna Dutey Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anne Willis Martin and two brothers, Joe Martin and Bill Martin. John was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War as a Paratrooper. He was a member of the Lawrence Township Volunteer Fire Department for 35 years. He is survived by his three children, John E. Martin, Jr., Jim (Kathy) Martin and Kimberly (Jeff) Towell; one brother, Larry (Cathy) Martin; two sisters; three grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Graveside service will be 1:30 PM Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Williams Hill Cemetery located with Leatherwood Cemetery, Kitts Hill, OH. Friends may visit 10 AM - 12 PM Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
