A native of Oshkosh, George H. Stearns, 74, a retired switchman and resident of Fond du Lac for the past 50 years, died at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac early Friday morning.
Mr. Stearns was born April 3, 1869, in Oshkosh, and in 1890 married Melinda Letourneau at Kaukauna. The wife survives as do two sons, Clarence of Fond du Lac, and Frank of Racine; three daughters, Mrs. Bert Bestor, Fond du Lac, and Mrs. Emil Pagel, Menasha, and Mrs. Frank Mauci of Milladore; eight grandchildren and a brother in Minneapolis.
The funeral will be held Monday at Fond du Lac with burial in Calvary cemetery in that city.
