He graduated from Southeast High School in Oklahoma City. James worked at Fred Jones Auto, before retiring at the age of 38. He attended and was very active with Victory Church in Oklahoma City and even helped with going to Fall's Creek. James enjoyed fishing. He was an avid OU fan and loved his dog, Tickles/Pickles.
Survivors include: his son, Justin "Sonny" Foster and wife, Kamber Noel, of OKC; sisters: Betty Barnett and Louella Downing, both of OKC; brother, Timothy Wayne Fields; of Colorado; two granddaughters: Mackenzie and Leah Foster; and two brothers in-law, Sampson Barnett and Leroy Austin.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sonny and Mattie Fields; brother, Richard Fields; and two sisters: Wilma Austin and Christine Johnson.
