Albert Eugene Eaddy was the son of Dr. Albert May Eaddy and Emma Parker Eaddy. Upon the death of his mother in 1936, his father married Marie Snowden, who became Eugene's second mother. Reverend Eaddy is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Drucie Connelly Eaddy, daughters Sarah Eaddy Burbach (David) and Laura Eaddy Horlbeck (Peter). He is survived by three grandchildren: John Eugene (Gene) Horlbeck (Abigail), Mary Dove Horlbeck Murray (Micah), and Laura Margaret Burbach, and was preceded in death by grandson Michael Patrick Burbach. Other family members include sister Caroline E. Mellon, sister-in-law Jewel Connelly Pearcy (English), and nephews Marshall Moon, Parker Moon, English C. Pearcy (Cindy), and niece, Mary Pearcy Russell (Alan).
Reverend Eaddy was a graduate of Columbia High School, a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wofford College, and an alumnus of the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He retired after forty-one years of ministry in the South Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church, having served Folly Beach and St. Andrews Parish, Lexington, Bethany (James Island), Edgefield, Hopewell (Lancaster), Trinity (Darlington), Indian Field (St. George), St. Mark (Greenwood), and Grace (Abbeville).
Services will be held at Main Street United Methodist Church in Greenwood, South Carolina, followed by internment at 3:00 at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Prosperity, South Carolina.
