Ruth Mae Smith Bryant, age 88 of Findlay, passed away at 2:28 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Birchaven Village. Ruth was born on December 27, 1931 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Clarence and Hazel Marie (Crawford) Smith. Ruth was married to Tom Bryant on May 1, 1954, they were later divorced. She is survived by a son, John L. (Catherine) Bryant of Findlay; grandchildren John R. Bryant, David T. Bryant, Jennifer (John) Kayser, and Thomas Jason Bryant; and two sisters Elaine Beach of Arlington, Ohio and Barbara McCoy of Van Wert, Ohio. Ruth was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Edgar Bryant on July 23, 1984; an infant son, Thomas F. Bryant, Jr.; brothers Donald Smith and Harold Smith; and sisters Virginia Hards and Nancy Beck. Ruth worked as a forklift operator at Fostoria Distribution which later became Excel Logistics; she also worked in the cafeteria at Whirlpool Corporation; JCPenney Department Store as a salesperson, and telephone operator for Ohio Bell. She was a 68 year member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Findlay where she served on the Altar Guild. Visitation for friends and family of Ruth will be held from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2020 at KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME 500 Lima Ave Findlay, Ohio. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Trinity Episcopal Church 128 W. Hardin St, Findlay, Ohio with Pastor John Drymon officiating.
