"William Granville Ballinger was born 27 March, 1861 in Tennessee to Edward Ballinger and Isabella McKinley Ballinger. He lived in Kentucky before moving to Arkansas where he lived in the Boston Mountains, delivering babies, setting bones, and making herbal medicines. His dad was thought to have practiced medicine, and that is how he learned to make his medicines. He delivered babies around Huntsville and Kingston, AR. He lived in Red Star, before and about 1924, and also in Kingston and Huntsville, Madison Co. He left the Ozark Mountains and moved to Dennis, OK, left in 1937, was in Hallett, Pawnee Co, OK where he attended the Baptist Church and farmed. From there he moved to Terrelton, OK in 1938, and then to Jennings in 1939. He died in Jennings and is buried in Pawnee.
