Laurel Mackenzie Banner, age 24, Erwin, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center while she was surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Erwin and daughter of Emmanuel Banner and Amber Hendren.

Laurel was of the Christian Faith. She was an Electrical Assistant at Precision Electrical.

Laurel adored her large family and loved her little nephew. There was nothing more important to her than family and friends. She was independent and strong. Laurel was a very hard worker and dedicated to her job. She was known to have two or three jobs at a time.

Her personality was contagious! Laurel had a loving, gentle spirit and calmness about her. She had a huge laugh and giggled all the time. Laurel loved music, movies, having fun, hiking, camping, fishing, animals, swimming and being outdoors.

Laurel was preceded in death by both of her grandmothers: AnnaLee Banner and Rita Hendren.

In addition to her parents, Emmanuel Banner and Amber Hendren, she leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sisters: Jaylin Hendren and Lacey Hensley; one nephew, Kassian “Kyson” Hendren; several aunts and uncles; special cousins: Jacob Tipton and Rachael Campbell and many other cousins and friends also survive.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, December 27, 2019 in the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Tyler Dalton will officiate at the 7:00 PM service. Committal will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2019 in the Banner Cemetery, Martins Creek Community. Reverend Travis Holloway will officiate the committal service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM on Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
