Born 1765-1767 in the Zakiah Swamp area (Newport) area of Charles County, or possibly near Bryantown. He married about 1784 in Charles County to Chloe Howell. He possibly had a first wife (Mary), mother to his first 5 children, but that is not proven. He immigrated to and died in the area of the Pottinger's Creek Settlement, in then Nelson County, KY. Tomb is non-extant, and assumption is that he was buried at this cemetery.
