Shirley Sue Scoggins, daughter of the late Lester O. Newsom and Evelyn Mae (Shaw) Newsom was born March 20, 1946 in Holcomb, Missouri and departed this life on January 2, 2020 at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 13 days.
Survivors include: Two daughters: Sherry (Tim) Simmons of Kennett, Missouri and Jamie (Johnny) Gee of Kennett, Missouri.
5 grandchildren: Brittaine (Jon) McComb, Tyler (Katie) Gee, Haley (Luke) Johnson, Emily Scoggins (fiance’ Ben Garcia), and Lily Gee.
Four great grandchildren: Maci Gee, Jac Gee, Kreed Gee and Harlow Garcia
One brother: Jimmy Newsom of Holcomb, Missouri
Two sisters: Maxine Dildine of Gideon, Missouri, and Marie Griffin of Paragould, Arkansas; Other relatives and many friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter: Jackie Scoggins, three brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett, Missouri. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the McDaniel Chapel. Reverend Scott Crane officiating. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Johnny Gee, Tyler Gee, Jon McComb, Luke Johnson, Ben Garcia and David Kendrick. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri.
