Graveside service for Vera Oleta Hollis, 79, of Decatur was to be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Preskitt Cemetery with the Rev. Phillip Yoder officiating.
The singer, Joe Paul Nichols Sr, a long time family friend, attended and sang a couple of mother's favorite songs.
Hollis died Sunday, March 25, 2007, in Decatur.
Born Feb. 4, 1928, in Petrolia to Benjamin and Rosie (Mitchell) Patterson, she was a homemaker. She married Amos Lee Hollis on Jan. 1, 1946, in Henrietta.
She was preceded in death by her husband; five brothers, Jewel, Lloyd, Melvin, Orville and James; and a sister, Molea.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Hollis and wife, Charlene, of Cypress and Kevin Hollis and wife, Bryann, of Weatherford; two daughters, Vicky McGuire and husband, Bill, of Burleson and Mitzi Reaves and husband, Scott, of Decatur; grandchildren, Honor Anguiano, Drew Hollis, Michael McGuire, Terry McGuire, Kevin Hollis II, Chloe Hollis, Alicia Hill, Ami Harvey, Jason Anderson, Casey Dee Anderson, Joni Reyes, and Karley and Brock Reaves; and great-grandchildren, Cooper and Mason Anguiano, Christopher and Korbin Hill, Michael Jason McGuire, Tristen Hill, Kaylee Gould, Chelsea and Rylee Harvey, Andrew McGuire, Michael Keeton, Scott McGuire, Jonathan and Jessica McGuire, and Alyssa and Christopher Jones.
Pallbearers were Drew Hollis, Terry McGuire, Michael McGuire, H. Tray Hill, Nick Anguiano and Mario Reyes.
