The birth of Arthur is stated differently on several records:
With parents in 1900 census year - September 1881
WWI Draft Card - September 24th, 1880
Death Certificate (13195) - September 25th, 1880
SS Application - September 24th, 1881
Without an image of the tombstone to know what is engraved; will use what appears on the SS Application as year matches to what parents reported in 1900 and day matches to his WWI Draft. He died at the age of 61 years, 7 months, and 3 days.

At an early age he was converted and united with the Baptist church at Hutton, Ind., under Rev. George Fuson, later on January 1902, moved his membership to the Darwin M. E. church. He has proved a faithful member ever since.

He married three times:

on August 27, 1921 in Vigo County, IN
Note - Bessie and Arthur divorced, she is seen getting married to Evan Quillman, July 17, 1924 in Vigo County. Marries again to Clyde Ray Beal Feb. 7, 1963. Died Bessie Marie Quillman.

He was united in marriage to Bessie Pershing in the year 1924 and to this union one daughter, Geneva, was born. He was all a father could be in rearing his daughter to womanhood, starting her on the right road through life and sharing the trials and temptations of life with his wife and daughter.
Two brothers preceded him in death, Elijah and William.
Besides his wife and daughter, he leaves to mourn his departure two brothers, Commodore and John and also one nephew, Carl Frakes of Darwin, Ill., a nephew, Oral Frakes of Chicago, Ill., nieces, Iola Low of Marshall, Ill., Arlena White of Annapolis, Ill., and Carol June of Darwin and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted from the DeBaun Funeral Home at Prairie Creek, Ind., Thursday, April 30, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. H. J. Kamp in charge. Singers were from the Prairie Creek Methodist church.
