Mrs. Hinson was born to the late Dewey Otis Ballard and Juanita Stogner Ballard and was married to the late Louie Von Hinson, Sr. She worked for the Springs organization at the Customer Service Center for many years before retiring to take care of her ailing husband, mother, and mother-in-law. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Lancaster and loved her family, friends, and pretty much anyone she met.
Mrs. Hinson is survived by her sons, Louie Von Hinson, Jr. (Pauline), Finley Stephen Hinson (Martha), and Timothy Dean Hinson (Dolly); her grandchildren, Erin Miller (Zeke), Jennifer Belk (James), Jillian Hinson (Marquis), Allison Hinson (David), Teresa Altman (Wayne), Tommy Hopkins, and Christy Carter (Chris); 11 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hinson was preceded in death by her husband, Louie; her parents; a great-grandson, Tyler Dean Carter; a great-great grandson, Gavin Catoe; her brother, Billy Ward Ballard; a sister-in-law, Bett Ballard; and a nephew, Burnie Ballard.
The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Hinson will be 11:00 am Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Brian Saxon, Rev. Larry Helm, and Rev. Bill Parker. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Hwy., Lancaster, SC.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to the various ministries at Second Baptist Church, 1426 Great Falls Hwy, Lancaster, SC 29720 or Canaan Land Ministries, 4964 Taxahaw Rd, Lancaster, SC 29720.
