Mabel Annette (Jacobs) Treichel, 75, of Mountain View died peacefully May 21, 2013. She was born June 15, 1937 in Englewood, KS, eldest daughter of the late Al and Millie Jacobs.

Annette graduated from St. Mary's High School, Menasha, WI, class of 1955.

She married her high school sweetheart, Ronald (Ron) Treichel, on July 4, 1956, and they were together for over 57 years. They were stationed throughout the United States while Ron served in the Air Force. Upon his retirement from the federal government, they moved to Mountain View in March, 1990.

Annette greeted everyone with a smile, always saw the best in a person, and had an optimistic view of the world. She knew how to make everyone feel like they mattered and that she cared; so, as a result, she never met a stranger. She had a quirky sense of humor and her facial expressions could speak volumes. She was an avid gardener with a bright green thumb who never met a plant she didn't love. This love of gardening has blossomed in her three daughters who do their best to follow in her footsteps. To quote in part, Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To laugh often and much;….to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better; whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is the meaning of success." This was Annette - she lived a success-filled life.

Annette was a military spouse, a homemaker, and someone who loved to read the newspaper from front to back. She had a deep, abiding faith in God and was always an active member of their church wherever they were stationed; serving at various times as a Eucharistic minister, member of the Legion of Mary, and as a representative on the parish council. In Mountain View, she was a strong voice in the church choir, served as secretary on the Deanery Council, and was a Sunshine Lady.

Annette was preceded in death by an infant son, David.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ron; three daughters, Patricia Treichel of Woodbridge, VA; Jeannette Stokes of Chesapeake, VA; and Rhonda Sizemore and son-in-law Kevin of Summerville, SC. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Craig, Mark, Zachary, Emma, and Sarah.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held sometime in August in Mountain View, AR. Additional details will be provided at a later time. Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the .
