David Lowell Smith of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away at Alive Hospice in Nashville on Sunday, December 22nd, 2019; he was 64 years old.

David was preceded in death by his parents William R. Smith, Sr. and Ellie Ruth Hooper Smith; and his brother, William R. Smith, Jr.

He is survived by his aunt, Myrna H. Short; uncle, Roger Whitley; sister-in-law, Kathy McCullough Smith; nephew, William Richard Smith III (Rich); niece, Molly Smith Chitwood (Connor); great-nephew, Bridger. Cousins: Patricia S. West, Cynthia S Miller (David), Stephanie Carlton (Joe), Stacy Parrish (Lee) and David A. Whitley (Joanna)
David graduated from Antioch High School and attended David Lipscomb University. During his life he attended Third Baptist Church and Haywood Hills Baptist Church. David worked in different industries – landscaping with his father, printing and Security.

David was a talented artist, and loved to draw. He had a philosophical mind and although he was quiet and observant, he would hold great discussions.
David was a dutiful son, taking care of this mother after his father and brother passed away. David was an avid reader and loved to watch movies and television with his Mom in her last years.
David did not try to fit a mold, he was his own person. If you knew him you know he was a unique individual. He marched to his own beat.

Visitation at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, Friday January 3rd, 2020 9:00am to 11:00am. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home Friday January 3, 2020 at 11:00am with Paul Koulakov officiating.
