Allen Aamodt, 85, of Bagley, MN passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 24, 2016 at the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center in Bemidji, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 at Grace Free Lutheran Church in Bagley at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Wayne Hjermstad officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at the Bagley City Cemetery in Bagley, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Allen was born on September 3, 1930 in Bagley the son of Alfred and Emma (Aanenson) Aamodt. He attended school in Bagley. Allen met the love of his life, Fern Nelson at the Clearwater County Fair in 1949. He was drafted in the Army in 1952 and he was stationed in Hokkaido, Japan. Allen married Fern on August 28, 1954 at her parent’s farm near Clearbrook, MN. They had 3 children. He worked as a custodian with the Bagley School system from 1956 – 1989. Allen was a humble, quiet man, who loved to spend time with his family and teach them different things. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and tractors. Allen was always tinkering with something; he didn’t sit still for long. He built the cabin at the family farm which he spent a lot of time at. He loved the Lord and trusted in his care. He was a member of Grace Free Lutheran Church.
