Passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 16, 2014; age 56 years. Darwin was born on October 27, 1957 in Saginaw, MI. He was married to Maria Geyer on December 2, 1978, she survives him.
Surviving besides his wife Maria are; a son and a daughter, Christopher (Heather) Bierlein, Melissa (Kenny) Kern; 4 grandchildren, Eva and Ruben Bierlein, Makayla and Erik Kern; mother and father, Gerald and Fran Bierlein; mother-in-law Mary Geyer; a brother and sister, Ricky (Ellen) Bierlein and Susan (Bernie) Taylor; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and very dear friends Dr. Frank and Sandy Piesko.
Darwin was preceded in death by his father-in-law Lewis Geyer.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Rev. Mark D. Brandt will officiate, with cremation to follow. Darwin’s family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
