Loma Luvinia Pitts, daughter of the late Dewey and Lula (Black) Tate, was born on May 12, 1928 in Mohawk, MO, and departed this life on December 20, 2019 in Hermitage, MO. At the time of her passing she was 91 years, 7 months, and 6 days of age.
Loma was raised on the family farm near the Pleasant Ridge community and graduated from Urbana High School. After graduation she attended Drawns Business College in Springfield, MO. She was united in marriage to Edwin Lee Pitts on November 28, 1952 and to this union two sons were born, both of whom survive her. She worked for a short time as a Bookkeeper for MFA in Urbana, MO, worked on the family farm, and took care of her family. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her flowers, quilting, and cooking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Loma was also an active member of the Pleasant Ridge Freewill Baptist Church.

Loma was preceded in death by her husband Edwin; her parents; and two brothers, Lawrence Tate and Willie Tate.
She is survived by her two sons, Earl Pitts of Urbana, MO and Dale & wife Vicki Pitts of Preston, MO; three grandchildren, John Pitts, Isaac & wife Alicia Pitts, and Michael Pitts; and one great-grandchild. She also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss her.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2019 at the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home in Urbana with Bro. Scott Reynolds officiating. Escorts will be John Pitts, Isaac Pitts, Michael Pitts, Mike Grisham, Jimmy Tate, and David Reynolds. Interment will be in the Maple Lawn Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Urbana.
