Nellie Herndon Traynham, 95, of Burlington, passed away on Thursday, 12/19/2019 at her residence.

A native of the Anderson Community of Caswell County, she was the wife of the late Robert W. Traynham, Jr. and the daughter of George Herndon and Mary Walker Herndon, both deceased.

Nellie formerly worked as a bookkeeper for the Carolina Tobacco Warehouse and she volunteered for over 35 years with Memorial Hospital of Alamance and Alamance Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by her son, Rob Traynham , of Caswell County and 2 granddaughters, Blair Traynham and Bailey Traynham.

A service to celebrate the life of Nellie, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, 12/22/2019 at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington and conducted by Rev. Ben Bishop. Burial on Pine Hill Cemetery will be private. The family will receive friends at Rich and Thompson in Burlington one hour prior to the service.
