Mrs. Fagin was born Dec. 3, 1922, in Roswell, N.M. Her parents were James E. and Mary E. Sheppard Morrison. She graduated from Roswell High School in 1941 and attended Draughns and Roswell Business Collages. She also completed a real estate course at South Plains College.
In 1942 she married Herman E. Isbell in Roswell. He passed away in February of 1981. In April of 1996, Ms. Isbell married Buford Fagin.
She was a member of the Church of Christ, AARP, Texas Legislature Representative, district vice-president of VFW Ladies Auxiliary, past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, and she served on the board of trustees for the Slaton Senior Citizens Center. She was the first woman president of the Men's' Railroad Retirement Club and was the bookkeeper for the Ladies Auxiliary to Brotherhood of Railroad Retirement Club.
Her survivors include her husband, Buford Fagin of Slaton; two daughters, Laura Gestes of Waco and Linda Woody of Lubbock; step-daughter, Joy Hurst of Slaton; step-son, Wayne Fagin of Dallas; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Lubbock Christian Children's Home or Portales, N.M. Christian Children's Home.
Visitation will be today, July 21, 2007, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Englunds Chapel in Slaton.
