Obituary of Frances Secord
Secord, Frances Doreen, age 81, passed away, Thursday , December 19, 2019 at the Civic campus of The Ottawa Hospital.

Frances was born October 17, 1938 in Sudbury, ON to Marjorie Jane Chapman and Charles Victor Secord. Frances had a rough childhood, having been raised in foster homes most of her life. She rose above that to lead a successful life as a mother to Frances, Hubert David and one other daughter as well as 'Mo' to Her grandchildren.In 1958, Frances married her first husband and had 3 children. In 1969, she graduated from the Ontario Department of Health Training program for Nursing in Sudbury. She went on to marry her second husband in 1970 and in 1980 she went on to fulfill her dream of a university education. Frances received a BA in Psychology and graduated with honours from Laurentian University in 1981, an accomplishment she was incredibly proud of. She then moved to Ottawa to work for the public service with Corrections Canada and Transport Canada until she retired.

Frances has always been a strong, independent and benevolent woman. She lead a life of giving to others even in times when she herself was in need. She was an avid member of her church and spent a significant time involved in aiding other members of her congregation. She loved her children dearly and was the best mother she could be.

Frances is survived by her daughter, as well as her two grandchildren.

Predeceased by her parents, Marjorie (2007) and Charles Secord (1971), her daughter Frances 'Franny' Doreen McKibbon (1961), her son Hubert David McKibbon (1999) and her siblings Ronald Secord (1941), Bruce Secord (2012), Jack Secord (1986), Hank Secord (2016) and Marlene Bellmore (2005).

She will be fondly remembered by her sister in law, her long time friends, the Yawney family and missed by her furry companions Angel and Peanut.
