Funeral services for Carl A. Peterson, 51, were conducted in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Friday by the Rev. Gerald White, pastor, and Rev. Roald Kindem (sic), pastor of American Lutheran Church at Whitefish.
Pallbearers were Elmer Loy, Renn (sic) Torbert, Lester LeFevre, Arthur Overby, Byron O'Neil and Dr. E.O. Bratsberg. Burial was in Conrad Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of the Johnson Funeral Home.
Carl Arthur Peterson was born in St. Paul, Minn., Oct. 1, 1905. He received his education and grew to manhood there. He lived for a time in LeSueur, Minn., and in 1929 came to Twin Bridges and was engaged in business there. On June 17, 1931, he married Leone McCoy in Twin Bridges. They remained there until 1937 when they came to Kalispell and had lived here since.
He was associated in the Woodward stores until early this year when he sold his interests here. He still owned and operated a store in Whitefish.
He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church; he was president of the Kalispell Rotary club in 1944, and had served on various committees in the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce and always took an active part in its interests.
He was a member of Trinity Lodge 152, AF&AM; Kalispell Chapter 13, R.A.M; a past commander of Cyrene Commandery 10. K.T.; Algeria Temple of the Shrine; Missoula Consistory, A.A.S.R.; Adah Chapter 17, O.E.S., and Kalispell Elks Lodge 725.
The family home is at 430 Woodland Ave. Mr. Peterson died in a Kalispell hospital.
