Funeral services for Bonnie Ruth Gambrell Benton, 83, of Palestine will be at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel; burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery. She loved the color of red so the family is requesting attendees to wear something red in celebration of her life.
In this life she served as daughter to James Grady and Pallie Marie Gambrell and as a sister to Milton and E.W. Southard and Barbara Holt.
In marriage, she served as wife to Jessie L. Benton and as a career Army wife; she bore and mothered 8 children; four sons,Bobby J., Danny L., Stanley J., and James E. Benton and 4 daughters, Linda Alvarez, Cathy Jeffcoat, Sera Roach and Ruthie Conaway. She was blessed as a grandmother to have 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
She served in her given role always trusting and loving God Almighty, her family and so many others. Her memory will be cherished forever.
