Born January 2, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he was the son of the late Richard L. (Dick) and Norma Harrington Neenan.
He was the manager of the family-owned first McDonald's in Harrisburg, later moving to California where he opened two restaurants. Rick then returned to Central Pennsylvania where he engaged in other pursuits. Richard was a devout Christian and a selfless giver in every sense. Regardless of what he had going on, his concern was always for everyone else. He had a positive outlook and a smile to share with everyone. He had the ability to love unconditionally and loved to "ring his bell for Jesus."
In addition to his parents, Rick was predeceased by his sister, Ann Crist.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Deborah D. (Hill) Neenan; four children, Richard L. Neenan, III (Dawn Herrmann) of Davison, MI; Christopher S. Neenan, Rebekkah J. Neenan Dirkman (Brian), and Christina L. Neenan Longenecker (Brian), all of the Harrisburg, PA area; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Rick will be cherished and missed by his four sisters; Mary Jane Neenan of Lewes, DE; Audrie Neenan (Rodney Richman) of Hyde Park, NY; Doris Ulsh (Rob) and Robin Stuart (Jeb), both of Harrisburg. A brother-in-law, Robert Crist, of Dauphin, and father-in-law, Edward Hill, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Richard will continue to give of himself to and for others, as he donated his body to medical research.
