Mike was born March 25, 1937 in Cullowhee, North Carolina, a son of James Oscar Ashe and Bertha Morrison Ashe.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Mike attended Calvary Baptist Church. He served his country in the US Air Force and he retired from Santee Cooper. He was a member of Berkeley Lodge #269 A.F.M. and Berkeley Hunting Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter-Michelle Ashe Dye and her husband Danny, of Pinopolis; three grandsons- Jeremiah Dye and his wife Katelyn, of Florida; Micah Dye of Pinopolis; Zac Dye also of Pinopolis; a great granddaughter- Annabelle Dye; two sisters- Hazel Ashe, Barbara Mills; a brother- Johnny Ashe all of Cullowhee, NC. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by three sisters- Violet Maye Connor; Kathryn Deitz and Jane Ashe and two brothers- Charlie Ashe and Jimmy Ashe.
A graveside service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 1555 S. Live Oak Drive, Moncks Corner, Tuesday afternoon, December 17, 2019, at 3 o’clock. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
