Laura K. "Cassie" Hamill, 98, of Center, Missouri, passed away at 8:10 AM Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at University Hospital in Columbia, MO.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 14, 2019, at 10:30 AM, St. Williams Catholic Church in Perry, MO. Father John Henderson will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul's Cemetery, Center, MO.

Friends and Family are invited to Laura's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at St. Williams Catholic Church in Perry, MO,
with rosary prayer service at 10:00.

Cassie was born December 4, 1921, in Stoutsville, MO to Andrew Wheelan and Pauline Woodworth Wheelan.

She was married to Hugh E. Hamill on February 4, 1939, in Perry, MO. He preceded her in death August 6, 2005. She is also preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Jane Griffin, her parents, and one sister, Carolyn Selleck.

Survivors include four daughters, Linda Yager (William) of Overland Park, KS, Paula Evans (Mike) of Center, MO, Cindy Young (Larry) of Mexico, MO, and Mary Jo Edmiston (Marty) of Columbia, MO; fourteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Cassie was employed for 40 years at Cerf Brothers in New London, MO, and also spent her life as a farmer and homemaker. Cassie enjoyed quilting and cooking hot rolls for her family and friends. She took much pride in the Hamill farm and was a warm and kind friend to many. Cassie enjoyed sunny days in her swing with her beloved cats, Truman and Patches. Mowing the lawn was her hobby, but spending time with her girls remained her most favorite pastime.

Laura was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and St. Williams Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Evans, Kyle Evans, Brad Griffin, Larry Griffin, Joe Griffin and Ted Hamill.
