Miss Yates Becomes Bride Of Dr. Triche

PHILADELPHIA - The wedding of Miss Margaret Gaines Yates to Dr. Timothy Junius Triche of St. Louis, Mo., was solemnized Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Philadelphia with the Rev. Roy Collum of Jackson officiating at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Yates of Philadelphia. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Gaines of Decatur, and Mrs. Claud Yates and the late Dr. Yates of Philadelphia.

Dr. Triche, who is currently serving an internship in pathology at Barnes hospital in St. Louis. Mo., is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Triche Jr. of Derwood, Md. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Triche, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Steven Rachal, all of Akron, Ohio.

Candles in brass hurricane candelabra, decorated with daisies gypsophila, and white ribbons, marked the bridal aisle, and a brass prie-dieu entwined with smilax centered the church decorations. Rising behind the prie-dieu was a tower of white candles in brass cathedral candelabra with globes, draped with huckleberry and smilax. On the sides Trinity holders in varied heights rose above a bank of emerald and jade palms, which lined the choir rail, ending with massive arrangement of white stock, Marguerite daisies, and gypsophila on matching pedestals.

Wedding music was presented by Mrs. D. Porter Jordan, organist, Mrs. Hal Russell, soloist, and Mrs. Phil McCullough of Starkville, flute soloist.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a regal gown of imported satin and English net in a soft candlelight tone designed along Gabriel lines appliqued with re-embroidered Alencon lace beaded in seed pearls. The high crown collar was fashioned of the rich lace and jeweled lace appliques also accented the chapel length train which was attached high at back with self bow. She wore a full length mantilla of bridal illusion bordered in matching scalloped lace embroidered with pearl clusters and iridescents. She carried a Battenburg handkerchief which belongs to her Grandmother Yates. The bride's bouquet was a cascade of white sweetheart roses, lily-of-the- valley, and gypsophila, which was centered with a cluster of hand made beaded flowers filled in with veiled lace from her mother's wedding gown. The beaded flowers were made by the bride's great grandmother, the late Mrs. James J. Gaines.

Maid of honor was the bride's cousin, Miss Nelda Yates of Clarksdale. Mrs. Cooper Thurber of Point Clear, Ala., was matron of honor.

They wore formal-length dresses of gold textured silk with long bishop sleeves, high neck and full flared skirt. They carried nosegays of bronze and yellow pompon chrysanthemums and strawflowers.

Mr. and Mrs. Yates and Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Gaines, maternal grandparents of the bride, entertained with a beautifully appointed reception in the Yates home following the ceremony. Yellow and white fall flowers, ferns, and caladiums were used throughout the reception rooms, porches and patio.

A round table with matching cloth and decorations held the silver punch bowl. Nosegay bouquets of the bridal attendants, which repeated the wedding colors of yellow, bronze, and white, accented the decor of the house.

The den was the setting for the bridegroom's table which was overlaid with a gold cloth and was centered with the chocolate bridegroom's cake, surrounded by green grapes and ivy twine.

Twins brass candelabra with white candles and a coffee service completed the table appointments.
