Ronald Moe, 80, Fargo, ND pulled his last prank on Sat, Dec 7th, 2019 following his own rules to the end. The infection of the pancreas and liver may be what brought this time near, but Ron dictated exactly when he would be ready to let go.
Ronald Eugene Moe was born on July 10th, 1939 in Fargo, ND. to Chester Moe & Elvira (Leonard) Buckle Moe Krier. Ron was born and raised in the Golden Ridge area of Fargo. Where he was close to many family members. To Ron, his family was the utmost importance. He was happy to share his knowledge of ancestry and current family connections with anyone willing, or even unwilling, to listen. He had many found memories of his childhood in the Ridge and continued to be a part of that community thru much of his life. He is a survivor of the 1957 tornado that went thru the area. After the tornado Ron moved with his family to Moorhead, MN. Ron graduated from Hanson Mechanical School as a diesel mechanic. Early on he managed a service station on North Broadway and later began work as a diesel mechanic at Truckers' Inn Skelly Truckstop in Glyndon, MN at the time of his retirement due to disability he was the head diesel mechanic there. After retirement he became a "Winter Texan" spending his winters in Weslaco, TX. He made many great friends in the Rio Grande Valley. For the past 20 years he had resided there year-round until coming back to Fargo April 30th, 2019 to be closer to family. He spent his last 7 months filled with outings with family and reminiscing memories.
Ron was the type of person that not many could really describe. Most often it would be said that Ronnie Moe is, well, Ronnie Moe. That was really the only way to describe him. Ron had many passions throughout his life. He was one of the Bison's largest supporters, even incorporating himself into their homecoming parade on his appropriately colored John Deere bike. He raced his #6 stockcar, with his brother as his pit crew. He was a long-time member of the Roamers 4-wheel drive group. Ron took his family on many adventures in his 1979 Red Jeep Cherokee, like mud rally's, Sandhill races, camping, ice races, etc. Ron was very dedicated at becoming the best he could possibly be in everything he did. As an archer he was very proud his "Robin Hood" arrow where he shot a bullseye and the next shot was right into the back of that arrow. Ron had so many passions it is hard to name them all, but some of the others are: Fishing, Hunting, Golfing, Photography, Car Shows and so many more.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Carissa (Steven) Haugen; three step-sons Brett (Joann) Pierce, Charles (Ann) Pierce & Ronald Pierce; sister Charleen (George) Parker; aunt LaVerne (Victor) Johnson; uncle Lowell Laufenberg; grandchildren, Destiny (Dennis Hopper) Weiland, Kamaya Weiland, Bryanna Grieger & Jacob Ruediger; step-grandchildren, Matthew (Kristen) Weber, Stacy (Bryan) Dowling, Lauren Pierce, Monica (Jason) Wysong, Elizabeth Pierce & Angela (Jesse) Creech; 6 step-great-grandchildren; 24 Nieces & Nephews; and many other family and friends.
Ron is preceded in death by his 1st wife, Jean (Metcalf) Moe and his 2nd wife, Sally (Hart Pierce) Moe;
parents, Chester Moe and Elvira (Buckle Moe) Krier & Leonard Krier; his siblings, Marlin Moe & Norliss (Moe Buck) Overweg; and grandson, Justin Ruediger.
Visitation: Will be Mon, Dec 16, 2019 one hour prior to the service at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo, ND.
Celebration of Life Service: 2 pm Mon, Dec 16, 2019 at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo, ND
Ron has requested that no one where black at his service as he does not want us to mourn his loss, but rather celebrate his life and his reunion with those that have gone before him. An idea would be for everyone to show their Bison Pride.
Burial: Will be in the Casselton Cemetery in Casselton, ND at a later date.
