Graveside servieces for Jess P. Dovin, a former Lincoln resident, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holy Cross Cemetery, with the Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating. There is no visitation.
Mr. Dovin, 86, of Springfield died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999, at Regency Nursing Home, Springfield. He was retired from the Illinois Department of Conservation. Mr. Dovin was a member of Holy Family Church and the Lincoln Elks Lodge. He was born Sept. 18, 1913 in Lincoln, a son of Andrew and Mary Tutter Dovin. He married Emma Louise Hull. She died Jan. 12, 1973.
Surviving is one sister, Mary Smiley of Camarillo, Calif. Two brothers and two sisters proceded him in death. Memorials may be made to his church. Kerrigan Funeral Home handled arrangements.
