She was married to Joseph (Joe) Kramer, he preceeded her in death in 1951. Alvis, her son was living with her. They had 5 children, 3-girls, Irene Kramer, deceased, Eleanor (Eugene) Keran, Edna, (William) Sayers, Alvis Kramer, Josephine (Laurence) Beckert.
The years she raised her children, one of them ill (Irene) with diabetes, was extremely remembered, as "hard times".
As quoted by one of her daughters, "We may not of had much, such as many clothes or shoes, but we never went hungry". Their Mother was wise in growing a garden, fruit trees, raising chickens, canning, making bread and pies. Those days, there wasn't any electricity, refrigeration, or water in the house. She cooked and baked on a wood stove in their kitchen.
Her years got better when her children had grown. They were on their own and all seemed to help her get caught up on what they didn't have when they were young. One thing they couldn't do was cook and bake the way she did. There was always a pie, cookies, or coffee cake ready for their visits. Her Grandchildren, were always excited to visit Grandma.
Her funeral was a beautiful setting of the Christmas season at St. Mary's Church, just like the life she lived. Link funeral home West Point in charge of the service.
