She was born Sept. 22, 1942, in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of Ernest and Dorothy (Leach) Ackler.
Alta worked at Cherry Creek Woodcraft, CB Foods in South Dayton eventually retiring from Gowanda Nursing Home as a laundry aide. She enjoyed yard sales, collecting teapots and gardening, especially in the flower garden.
Alta is survived by her longtime companion, Edward Sawyer; her children: Kevin, Randy, Emma and JJ Sorenberger; a stepson, Mark Daniels; a brother, Robert Ackler; also several nieces, nephews and cousins
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lengerich; a stepson, Mark; parents, Ernest and Dorothy Ackler; and a sister, Lola Norton.
