JOHN F. ANDERSON, SR was born February 2, 1794, in the Barnwell District of South Carolina. He died December 1, 1876, at age 82, in the Sinkhole District, Militia District #44, of Bulloch County, Georgia. He was the son of JOSEPH ANDERSON, born circa 1758 in Colony of North Carolina, died June 1848 in Thomas County, Georgia and Sarah Anderson (maiden name unknown) (1770-1855). JOHN F. ANDERSON married ELIZABETH LEWIS on November 29, 1817 in Bulloch County, Georgia. ELIZABETH was born September 24, 1794 in Franklin County, Georgia. JOHN and ELIZABETH had eleven (11) known children (eight (8) sons, and three (3) daughters). At the time of JOHN'S death, he had accumulated approximately 4000 acres of land in the Sinkhole District of Bulloch County, Georgia. He left a large portion of the land to his son, JASPER V. ANDERSON (1836-1893), and the remaining portion to his son, DAVID C. ANDERSON (1827-1899). Descendants of JOHN and ELIZABETH currently plan for memorial monuments to be mounted at DELOACH PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY in Bulloch County, Georgia to memorialize their lives to future generations - [Kenneth Bowen was in charge of this, the status is unknown since his death.]

JOHN'S occupation was farming during all his adult life. The 1850 US Census for Bulloch County, Georgia lists him to be Age 56. All the known eleven (11) children of JOHN & ELIZABETH'S union are listed below in birth order:

i. HARRIET E. ANDERSON, b. March 12, 1818, d. March 14, 1891. HARRIET married JOHN FONTAINE HENDRICKS (1818-1902) on June 2, 1846, in Bulloch County, Georgia. His parents are JOHN HENDRICKS and ELMIRA JEMIMA BREWTON of Tattnall County, Georgia. HARRIET and her husband are interred at MOUNT PLESANT CEMETERY, Waycross, Ware County, Georgia. Two (2) known children from this marriage are; 1. James Daniel (1845-1928), and David Taylor (1849-1925). Note: HENDRICKS is often HENDRIX within the same family.

ii. JAMES E. ANDERSON, b. October 12, 1819, d. March 29, 1873. JAMES married LAVINIA "NINA" WILKINSON (1829-1908) on November 28, 1844, in Bulloch County, Georgia. NINA was the 4th child of JAMES H. WILKINSON, SR (1798-1863) and REBECCA WISE (1796-1855) JAMES & NINA are interred side-by-side at EPHESUS PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY, Bulloch County, Georgia. Eight (8) known children from this marriage, 5 sons and 3 daughters; Sons - 1. John (1845-1925), 2. Joseph (1850-1932), 3. Henry (1855-1932), and 4. Iverson E. (185601899) - Daughters - 1. Eliza (1846-1913), 2. Jane (1856-1914), and 3. Nancy (1858-1931).

iii. MARTHA ANDERSON, b. March 20, 1821, d. 1872, married LUKE PRIGDEN BEASLEY (1812-1913) on May 20, 1847, in Bulloch County, Georgia. MARTHA is interred in DELOACH PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY, Bulloch County, Georgia. The 1850 US Census shows the had two young daughters; 1. Elizabeth Beasley, Age 2, and 2. Ann Beasley, Age 1. Further research is needed to find all their children.

iv. JOHN F. ANDERSON, b. February 22, 1822, d. January 13, 1864 at age 41 years. Buried in Anderson Cemetery, Bulloch County, GA. JOHN married Elizabeth Ann Burnsed (1832-1898), in Bulloch County, Georgia on 30 SEP 1847. She is buried in Ephesus Church Cemetery, Bulloch County, GA. There are, at least nine (9) known children from this marriage, Three sons and six daughters; 1. JAMES JACKSON (1849-1935), 2. SENIA ANN ELIZABETH (1851-1934), 3. MARY (1852-1923), 4. ELIZABETH MOZELLE (1854-1935), 5. JOHN HERSCHEL (1858-1943), 6. ELLEN (1860-1934), 7. PROVIDENCE ARSULA (1861-1929), 8. MACY ANN (1862- ?), and 9. WILLIAM F. (1863-1937).

v. WILLIAM CHELTON ANDERSON, b. September 14, 1824 in Bulloch County, Georgia, d. July 30, 1881 in Bulloch County, Georgia. WILLIAM married MARIE ANN RUSHING on September 9, 1849. She was born November 15, 1824, died January 17, 1903. This was MARIE's second marriage [1st husband was CHARLES ULMER ZETTEROWER - m. October 4, 1840 - She had two children from the 1st marriage JANE A. VIRGINIA (1841-1926) AND CHARLES WILLIAM (1847-1924)]. WILLIAM & MARIE are interred side-by-side in the ANDERSON CEMETERY, Bulloch County, Georgia. WILLIAM & MARIE had at least seven children; three (3) sons and four (4) daughters, as listed here, in birth order: 1. JAMES HENRY (1852-1928), 2. MARGARET (1856-1934), 3. WILLIAM M. (1859-1933), 4. NICY ELVINA (1861-1934), 5. SARAH VIRGINIA (1863-1903), 6. IDA B. (1865-1925), and 7. EMIT MORTON (1867-1924).

vi. DAVID CALLAWAY ANDERSON, b. March 13, 1827, d. November 11, 1899. DAVID married JANE ANN "JINCY" WILLIAMS, born May 14, 1831, died September 27, 1900. "JINCY" is the daughter of Elder JOHN G. WILLIAMS (1809-1884) & FRANCES H C NESSMITH (1809-1874). Both DAVID and "JINCY" are buried in EPHESUS PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY, Bulloch County, Georgia. DAVID and "JINCY" had nine (9) known children, three (3) sons and six (6) daughters, listed here in birth order: 1. ELIZA FRANCES (1851-1925), 2. JOHN GOLDWIRE (1853-1931), 3. ELIZABETH ANN (1855-1937), 4. JANE ANN "JINCY" (1857-1939), 5. MARY JANE (1859-1900), 6. SARAH MARTHA (1859-1940), 7. FRANCES E. ANDERSON (1863-1951), 8. WILLIAM WASHINGTON (1866-1928), and 9. viii. EDMOND W. ANDERSON, b. October 30, 1831, Bulloch County, Georgia, d. 1858 (Age 26 or 27), Bulloch County, Georgia. On November 1, 1856 EDMOND married ELLEN RUSHING (b. April 29, 1838 in Bulloch County, Georgia, d. January 14, 1900 in Bulloch County, Georgia). ELLEN is daughter of JOHN BARRIEN RUSHING (1810-1894) and FAITHIE ANN ELLEN BURNSIDE (1818-1964). Before EDMOND'S death in 1858, He and ELLEN RUSHING had one (1) child, a son, WILLIAM SHELTON ANDERSON (1857-1926) who built a dam with a spillway that created a very large Mill Pond, known to this writer's generation (1930's thru 1950's) as the "G. B. Bowen Pond" featuring a Mill used by locals for grinding their corn into a meal which made excellent thin corn bread which I enjoyed. EDMOND'S wife, ELLEN, age 20 or 21, was left with a one (1) year-old son, and she remarried 2nd to her deceased husband's brother, JASPER V. ANDERSON (1836-1893). EDMOND is interred in DELOACH PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY, Bulloch County, Georgia.

April 29, 1838, d. January 14, 1900. JASPER is interred in DELOACH PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY, Bulloch County, Georgia. JASPER and ELLEN has four (4) children; 1. COLONEL HARRISON (1862-1930), JULIAN J. E. ANDERSON (1870-1940), QUEEN (1874-1963), and MAXIE VENITA (1876-1940).
