In the summer of 1915 at Treasure Island scout camp near Point Pleasant, Pennsylvania founder E. Urner Goodman and co-founder Carroll A. Edson held the first ceremony of the Order of the Arrow.
Since that time tens of thousands of Boy Scouts and adult Scouters have been inducted into the Order of the Arrow. This Brotherhood of Cheerful Service is recognized by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America as an official part of the scouting program.
