Bessie P. Ealey, 76, a resident of Robings Manor Nursing Home in Brighton and formerly of Godfrey, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Anthony's Hospital.
Born in Decatur, daughter of the late Harrison and Wilhelmina (Abbott) Nesbit, she married Elmer Ealey who died in 1973.
Surviving are a son, James of San Diego, Calif.; five daughters, Ruth Griggs of Godfrey, Evelyn Segan of Gary, Ind., Rosemarie Campbell of Henderson, Nev., Shirley Wade of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Carol Huff of Aurora, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a brother, Royal Nesbit of Casselberry, Fla.; and three sisters, Orlene Sturgeon of Alton, Dorothy Gebhardt of Burbank and Nora Parkes of Hillsboro.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Gent Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Silas Braxton officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
