Relatives and friends here of Mrs. Mary E. Malone, widow of the late James E. Malone, were shocked on Monday morning upon receipt of messages telling of her death at her home in Milwaukee sometime Sunday night. Mrs. Malone's death was discovered by her daughter, Miss Jane Malone, when she went to her room in the morning to arouse her.
Mrs. Malone had a wide acquaintance in this city and at Juneau and Watertown where she had resided before coming to Beaver Dam and was held in the highest esteem. Her sudden taking away is a great shock to her family and numerous friends.
The remains were brought to this city and funeral services were held at St. Patrick's church at 9:30 o'clock Monday morning, Rev. Fr. A. C. Leist officiating. Interment was made in St. Patrick's cemetery.
Mrs. Malone was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Bourke and was born at Watertown, Wis., on June 2nd, 1855. She was united in marriage with James E. Malone of this city on June 1st, 1880. They made their home in Juneau for many years and in 1911 took up their residence here, Mrs. Malone leaving here about a year and a half ago to make her home in Milwaukee.
Mr. Malone preceded his wife in death in 1916 and she is survived by the following children: Mrs. William Rohan of St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Charles Elmer of Milwaukee; Mrs. T. E. Fitzmaurice of Kenosha; Miss Jane Malone, Milwaukee; Atty. Donald B. Malone of Waukesha and Atty. James F. Malone of this city.
