Edward J. McCloskey, Altoona, died unexpectedly Monday at his residence. He was born in Gallitzin, son of John and Rita Dawson McCloskey. He is survived by his mother; three daughters: Krista, Karrey and Korrey; five brothers: John, Joseph, William, Michael and Ralph; two sisters: Mary and Amy; three grandchildren; his life partner, Linda Claar. He was preceded in death by his father; a nephew, John McCloskey III; and his best friend, Dick Wolf. Mr. McCloskey retired from Skills of Central Pennsylvania as a resident counselor. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion, Post No. 174. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and playing chess.
