Mollie Jo Scruggs, 78, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at the Teague Nursing Home. Burial will be at Union Cemetery.

Mollie was born on September 5, 1941, in Tomball, Texas, to the late William Eldon and Maggie Lois (Black) Harris. Mollie married L. C. Scruggs on November 8, 1958, and they shared over 61 years of marriage.

Mollie loved her family very much. She loved children, not just her children, but all children, and owned and operated a daycare for many years and enjoyed every minute of it. Mollie also had a flower shop and a catering business. She was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Billy (B.J.) Harris and his wife, Rolene; and sister, Erna Moffett and her husband, Herman.

Survivors include her husband, L. C. Scruggs, of Teague; sons, Kelly Scruggs and his wife, Cheryl, William C. Scruggs and his wife, Melissa, and Kevin Scruggs and his wife, Penny; grandchildren: Stephen Scruggs and his wife, Cori, Lauren Saldana and her husband, Jonathan, Ty Scruggs and his wife, Jessica, Korey Scruggs and his wife, Christina, Lane Scruggs and his wife, Bailey, and Tiffany Gauntt and her husband, Zach; great-grandchildren: Ross Scruggs, Wesley Gustafson, Peyton Scruggs, Madelyn Saldana, Karson Scruggs, Blair Gauntt, and Brynleigh Gauntt; sister, Martha Gilliam and her husband, Glyn, of Graham; other relatives and many friends.
