Our beloved Dad, Grandpa, Papa, Pops, and Husband, Lee Martin Cantwell of Klamath Falls, Ore., went to be with his Lord.
Lee was born on Oct. 30, 1932, in Cassville Mo., the son of a hard working farm family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivy and Laura Muriel Owens-Cantwell, and his younger brother, Billy. Lee was the oldest of five children, Flora Sue, Christine, Barbara and Billy. He follows his oldest daughter, LeeAnna March-Nielsen, deceased on Aug. 20, 2015.

He was blessed by the Heavenly father who gave him 83 years of a rich, full life. In that time, he came to Oregon where he met the love of his life, Gloria Wilcher. He affectionately nicknamed his wife "Red" for her stunning auburn hair. They married in Nov. 16, 1952.

Their marriage together resulted in the birth of three beautiful daughters, LeeAnna March-Nielsen, Laura Maroney of Central Point Ore., and Teresa Michaelis of Klamath Falls, Ore. Son-in-laws, Michael Maroney and Lonnie Michaelis. Grandchildren, Julie March-Hairston of Boise, Idaho, Joshua Maroney of Central Point, Kevin Nielsen of Boise, Jeremy Maroney of Central Point, Kyle Michaelis of Central Point and Cody Michaelis of Medford, Ore. Julie's spouses, Adam Hairston, Jeremy's spouse, Samantha Maroney and Kyle's spouse, Megann Baldini-Michaelis. Great grandchildren are Julie and Adam's children, Tanner and Colton Hairston. Joshua's children are Britanee and Aaron Maroney. Kevin's child is Chase Nielsen. Jeremy and Samantha's child is Jonathan Maroney. Kyle and Megann's children are Mason and Kallie Michaelis, Cody's children are Cassadi and Payton Michaelis.

He was the solid rock of each of our families, mentoring, loving and caring. One of his many accomplishments included enlisting in the Army and serving in the Korean War from 1953-1957. Upon discharge, he started his career as owner/operator of logging and highway trucks. He and Gloria started Cantwell Trucking and he worked the business for 50 years before retiring just months before he died.

He settled outside Klamath Falls on three acres with a large shop where he could often be found tinkering with his cars and trucks. He could fix nearly anything and passed down that knowledge to his son-in-laws and grandchildren. He was a true self-made man. He was also a deacon of Merrill Baptist Church. He worked hard and gave back to others. His life was filled with many adventures with his family and friends. Over the years he enjoyed racing his 1982, Z28 Camaro, riding ATVs on the Oregon coast, fishing, camping and traveling. Being with his family is what he treasured most. On April 7, 2016, he was called home to be with the Lord to watch over his family from above. We love you, may you rest in peace with your Lord.
