_____

NB: There were Thomas by surname Amery or Emery all over central Illinois and central Missouri. (Spellings seemed interchangeable for most if not all, as well.) Some had a father Samuel. This man's mother was Mary Fischer not Mary Ebersole. I have no information on what became of this man's parents (where they died or were buried) to narrow them down to specific individuals. I have no proof his sisters (if he had any) match those of Mary Avery d. 1900's obituary. Mary Avery d. 1900 obituary does not mention a son *by name.* No sisters are mentioned in Thomas Avery d. 1919 obituary. First name changed to Elijah based on a couple of records and by request of another contributor, 14 February 2022. This man throughout his life however went by Thomas.
