SHELBY - Dollie Elizabeth Bingham McKinney, 68, of Shelby, went to be with the Lord Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to everyone that knew her.

She was born Sept. 25, 1943 in Cleveland County to the late Sherman Bingham and Stella Bryant Bingham. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Zeland McKinney and her brother, Jerry Bingham.

Mrs. McKinney was a member of Temple Baptist Church, in Shelby for 36 years, and she loved the Lord.

Surviving are her son, Zeland McKinney, II of Nebo, NC; two daughters, Gidget Stuart and husband, Johnny of Marion, and Deborah Paula VanBuren of Grover; three brothers, Bill Bingham of Gastonia, Ronnie Bingham of Shelby and Eddie Bingham of Old Fort; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Garry Wells; a special cousin, Tanjie Sears; and many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

The family would like to say "Thank You" to Hospice of Cleveland County for all the love support and care they provided for Mrs. McKinney and her family.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the service at the church
Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Monday at Temple Baptist Church in Shelby
Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at Salem Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery

GASTONlA - Billy Richard Bingham Sr. "Bill", 78, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 10, 2013. He was born in Gaston County, son of the late Sherman and Lilly Mae Smith Bingham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dottie Bingham, step mother, Stella Bryant Bingham; two sons, Kevin and Eddie Bingham; one sister, Libby Mckinney and two brothers, J.R. Bingham and Jerry Bingham.

Bill grew up in Gastonia and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was self employed in the TV repair business. He owned his own business for over 50 years, and met many friends through this business.

He enjoyed camping, boating and playing golf, had his pilot license, was an avid deep sea fisherman and enjoyed taking his pontoon boat fishing at Santee Cooper. He loved his dogs. He was a successful businessman, and exceptional father, grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed by many.

He is survived by his two sons, Billy Richard Bingham Jr. and Jay Bingham both of Gastonia, his aunts, Edith Thompson and Jonnie Bingham, five grandchildren, Lee and wife Lindsay Bingham, Joey and wife Ashley McMillan, Jordan and wife Holley Bingham, Shelby Bingham and fiancé Alex Lara, Brittany Bingham, two great-grandchildren, Luke McMillan and Miguel Lara, two brothers, Eddie and Ronnie Bingham, life long friends, Johnny Bou-kather and Loyd Furr.

A celebration of life of Mr. Bingham will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. The Rev. Marshall Owens of Friendly Baptist Church and Pastor Chris Wilson of Carson Memorial Baptist Church will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia. Woodlawn Funeral Home is serving the family.
