John L. Bolby, 71, of Bloomington, formerly of Gridley, passed away at 7:51 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2019, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
John was born on August 10, 1948 in Bloomington, IL, to LaVerne and Martha (Yordy) Bolby. He married Cheryl Carter on May 9, 1998 in Bloomington, IL. She survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Jennifer Taylor-Bell of Quincy and Mindy Taylor of Bloomington; one sister, Nancy Jones of El Paso; one brother, Jerry Bolby of Peoria; and three grandchildren, Taylor, Emma and Alex.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
John worked in the office at Hall Trucking of Gridley.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso, IL.
