Born Dec. 10, 1932, in Monmouth to Moss and Emmer Sanders Strange, he married Marilyn Howell on June 8, 1951, in Monmouth. She died July 22, 1996.
He also was preceded in death by one grandchild, one great-grandchild, three brothers and two sisters.
He later married Sandra Lucas on April 23, 1999, in Monmouth. She survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Janet Connerly, Terry (and Gary) Ward and Missie (and Butch) Engle, all of Monmouth, and Leann (and James) Anderson of Green Valley; two sons, William ''WeWill'' and Jeff (and Lorie), both of Monmouth; one stepdaughter, Jina Martin of Monmouth; one stepson, James (and April) Lucas of Monmouth; 25 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 31 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Hazel Anderson of Monmouth and Christine Strange of Galesburg.
He worked at Super Sweet Feeds and Ralph Wells Pet Food. He then worked as maintenance supervisor for Farmland Foods until he retired in 1995. He last worked in maintenance for Pinewood Health Care Center.
He was a 28-year member and past president of Eagles Aerie 3478.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. The Rev. Gerald Marlow will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery.
