Ross Hans Jacob Jensen, 93, of Holstein, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Services were on Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at St Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Curtis Benson officiating. Burial was in the Ida Grove Cemetery.

Ross was born in rural Ida County on October 7, 1913, to Rudolph and Ella (Johannson) Jensen. He graduated from Ida Grove High School. On December 31, 1939 he married Evelyn Vohs of Holstein, Iowa, and the couple farmed on the same farm place where Ross was born until 1977 when they moved to Holstein.

Ross was an active member of St Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove while farming and St Paul Lutheran Church in Holstein in retirement. He served on the Ida County Fair Board and the Holstein Good Samaritan Board. He was a Kiwanis President and an active volunteer.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Evelyn; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sandy Jensen of Holstein, IA; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Dwaine Price of Omaha, NE; a sister, Lavonne Meisner of Ida Grove, Iowa; a brother Arlo Jensen and his wife, LuAnn of Kerrville, Texas; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Chris and Mike Jerke and sons Ben and Max of Holstein, Iowa, Becky and Dustin Glist and daughters, Lillian and Juliana of Littleton, Colorado, Cindy and Dane Hagerty and children, Jackson and Alexandria of Thorton, Colorado, Liesl and Steve Thorton and children, Veronica and Marshall of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Jeff and Keri Miller and sons, Elijah and Cole of Fremont, Nebraska, JD and Debra Price and children Hank and Dana, and grandchildren Lyric and Dakota of Leavenworth, Kansas, Jolynne and Dean Carleton and daughter, Amanda of Shakopee, MN., Jonathan and Lisa Price and children Joshua and Rebecca of Arvada, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, R.C. and Ella Jensen; a brother, Ray Jensen, and a granddaughter Michelle Jensen.
