It appears his Mother Carolyn Martha Cash Hill died after childbirth and Alex was raised by his Grandparents James M & Mariah Hill. On July 18, 1880 he was United in Marriage to Melvina Reeves and they had 5 children, Alice Hill Horton 1881-1964, Willie A Hill Moore 1884-1963, William Hill 1886-?, Amanda Belle "Manda" Hill Webb 1887-1941 (my Grandmother) & Herman Alexander Hill 1898-1945.
