Mr. Aaron D. Stamey, age 95 of Silerton, Tennessee, passed away at his home Friday morning, November 15, 2019.

He was born in Brownfield, MS on Thursday, October 9, 1924, to the late James Franklin and Mary Adeline King Stamey and lived most of his life in Hardeman County. Married to the late Lois M. Stamey on Friday, August 8, 1947, Mr. Stamey worked as an escort at WMHI in Bolivar and also at EMHI in Knoxville, where they lived from 1953-1962. Mrs. Stamey passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018. He also was a farmer.

Mr. Stamey was a veteran of the U. S. Navy having served in World War II from 1943-45. His church membership was with Parrans Chapel Baptist Church and he attended, most recently, the Piney Grove Baptist Church near Silerton. In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with his livestock.

He is survived by his son, Wendell (Faye) Stamey of Silerton; and his granddaughter, Aaron Leigh Stamey of Silerton.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Mable Blackwell, Irene Latimer, Lenore Cox and Louis Stamey; and two brothers, Mirrion and J. C. Stamey.
