Cambridge, NE -- Bertha Gross, 91, died Saturday, July 14, 2007, at the Cambridge Manor in Cambridge, Nebraska.

She was born on Dec. 21, 1916, in Antonino, Kansas, to George and Martha (Haas) Pfannenstiel.

On May 21, 1935, she was united in marriage to Marcellus E. Gross in Antonino. He preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1984.

She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Cambridge, the Altar Society, Cambridge Hospital Auxiliary, and the Hearts and Hands Group.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marcellus; a daughter, Calysta Rohr; five brothers, Isidore, Wendelyn, Joseph, Alfred and Melvin; and four sisters, Theresa, Pauline, Euphrosine and Evenlyn.

Survivors include her son, Robert D. Gross and wife, Rosiette of Holbrook, NE; a son-in-law, Francis Lee Rohr of Munjor, KS; two sisters, Irene Graf of Cambridge, NE, and Florine Chidester and husband, Kenneth of Salt Lake City, UT; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Interment will be July 18, 2007, at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Cambridge, Nebraska.
