Robert "Bob" Lee Spoor Sr., 81, of Mesick, died Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at home with his family by his side. He was born July 31, 1937, in Mio, the son of George and Matilda (Popps) Spoor.
Bob was a Veteran of the United States Army and a third generation logger. The most important thing in Bob's life was family, and he cherished family gatherings. Bob was a hard-working man who will be remembered for his sense of humor, kindness, and big heart.
Bob is survived by: his children, Debra (Robert) Lopez of Mesick, Diana (Wesley) Rabbits of Mesick, Virginia Spoor of Mesick, Robert (Regina) Spoor II of Mesick, Amy Spoor of Mesick, and Jessie (Troy) Fuller of Decker; his daughter-in-law, Carrie Spoor of Mesick; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Ronald Spoor of Pennsylvania and Donald Spoor of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
On July 23, 1960, in Rapids City, South Dakota, Bob married Ruby Marsh who preceded him in death in 2010. He was also preceded in death by: his parents; his son, Donald Spoor; his daughter, Christina Spoor; his grandson, Joseph Spoor; his brothers, Wilford, Theodore, Harold, and William; and his sisters, Virginia, Norma Jean, Ruby, and Sally.
Cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date.
The Terwilliger Funeral Home, in Kaleva, is in charge of arrangements.
