MRS. NONA YATES DIES
Mrs. Nona Yates, aged 52, of the Mahon neighborhood, died Monday night in a hospital in Jackson, Miss. The funeral took place at Red Banks yesterday.
Mrs. Yates was the daughter of John Rodgers, of Mahon neighborhood and is survived by five sisters, Mrs. C. A. McGurdy, of Jackson, Miss., Mrs. Ernest Fant, of Greenwood, Mrs. L. G. Morrell of Birmingham, Mrs. A. L. Mallick, of Henrietta, Texas and Mrs. Preston Hulsey, of Memphis.
The loss of her only son, Rodgers Yates, who drowned near Vicksburg during the 1927 flood and whose body was never recovered, is said to have contributed to her death.
